Finance Controller [up to RM 20,000]

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standard costing models, including material, labour, and overhead allocations.
  • Perform cost variance and production capacity analysis, identify key drivers, and implement corrective actions.
  • Deliver product and customer profitability analysis to support pricing strategies and margin improvement.
  • Build cost models for new products, make-or-buy evaluations, and financial scenario planning.
  • Manage corporate income tax provisions, filings, payments, and tax compliance activities.
  • Oversee indirect tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate tax audits, regulatory queries, and maintain comprehensive supporting documentation.
  • Monitor tax regulation changes and recommend tax-efficient structures and incentive opportunities.
  • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes across the organization.
  • Partner with business units to align financial plans with operational objectives.
  • Develop financial models, sensitivity analysis, investment appraisals, ROI assessments, and payback evaluations.
  • Support strategic projects through cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and provide data-driven recommendations to senior management.
  • Strengthen internal controls, compliance frameworks, and financial governance practices.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives across costing, tax reporting, and budgeting functions.
  • Plan and execute internal audit programs covering financial, operational, and compliance controls.
  • Identify control gaps, recommend corrective measures, and track remediation progress.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in cost accounting, tax compliance, financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Professional certification such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of costing methodologies, tax regulations, internal controls, and budgeting principles.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills.
  • Practical knowledge of AMOS is an added advantage.
  • Ability to prepare financial models, profitability analysis, investment appraisals, and business cases.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and implementing control improvements.
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia for communicating with Bahasa Malaysia-speaking stakeholders.
