About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Account & Business Development Manager to join their Plastics division in Melbourne, Australia.
This role will be responsible for managing existing customer accounts, developing new business opportunities, and expanding sales activities across Australia and New Zealand within the plastics, polymers, and resin markets.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers, suppliers, and industry partners to drive business growth while contributing to strategic initiatives and market development projects.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow assigned customer accounts to maximise sales opportunities and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Identify and develop new customers, markets, and business opportunities across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research and provide market intelligence updates to management.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and business plans to achieve commercial objectives.
  • Support business expansion initiatives and participate in projects to develop new products, services, and market opportunities.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels effectively to support business operations.
  • Oversee credit management and ensure effective account management practices.
  • Ensure all business activities are aligned with company strategies and objectives.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in plastics, polymers, resins, or related industries, preferably within wholesale trading, distribution, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong business development and account management experience.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical knowledge or experience in plastics, polymers, resins, production, or related fields will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of SAP MRP is advantageous.
